On-Pack Identification
EAN, UPC and GTIN today — GS1 DataMatrix and Digital Link on the same artwork.
A retail pack now has to satisfy the till, the warehouse, the recycling stream and a shopper with a phone. TEC-IT generates every carrier that pack needs from one set of product data, in vector formats your prepress team can drop straight into artwork.
Generate packaging codes from one consistent product record.
The till needs a GTIN. The distribution centre needs a case code. Packaging rules are moving toward machine-readable material and recycling information. And marketing wants a scannable destination. Adding a symbol for each is how artwork ends up crowded and inconsistent between SKUs. TEC-IT generates all of them from the same product record — so the GTIN in the EAN and the GTIN in the Digital Link cannot drift apart.

Linear for the till, 2D for everyone else, generated together.

An industry milestone for retail point-of-sale systems to read 2D barcodes — GS1 DataMatrix and QR with GS1 Digital Link — at checkout alongside EAN/UPC. It is a readiness programme rather than law, but it changes what packaging needs to carry.
No. The transition is additive: packaging carries the existing linear code and a 2D code during the changeover, so products scan wherever they are sold. TEC-IT generates both from the same product data.
It turns the code into a web-resolvable identifier, so one symbol can serve the checkout and also link consumers to product information, provenance or recycling data — without a second code on the pack.
Usually magnification, contrast or quiet zone: EAN/UPC symbols have specified dimensions per ISO/IEC 15420, and a code scaled to fit a design frequently falls below them. Generate at the correct size rather than resizing afterwards.
