Product Passport
Carry product, batch and material data in a code your customer can scan — and your regulator can follow.
A digital product passport is only as reliable as the identifier that points to it. TEC-IT generates that identifier — a GS1 Digital Link, a serialised QR, a Data Matrix — from the master data you already hold, and prints it onto the product, the pack and the pallet.
Connect product identifiers to the data behind the passport.
ESPR brings the digital product passport. PPWR brings harmonised packaging labelling and QR-coded reusable packaging. EUDR brings plot-level geolocation and due diligence statements. CLP is being rewritten around digital labelling. Each arrives on its own timetable, each wants a machine-readable carrier, and none of them will accept a spreadsheet. The identifier layer is the part they share — get that right and each new rule becomes a data mapping, not a reprint of every label you own.
Give every product, batch and packaging unit a unique, resolvable identifier — GS1 Digital Link, serialised QR or Data Matrix.
Link that identifier to the material, batch, origin and compliance data already held in your ERP or PIM.
Roll changes out through one template library, so a new data requirement is a template update — not a relabelling project.
DPP identifiers, data and printing as one system.
A DPP carrier is designed once and reused across every product and market.
Each identifier is checked against GS1 and DPP rules before it prints.
Create a traceable DPP carrier for the production printer, a PDF artwork file or a connected service.
Every solution maps to proven, licensable products.
Designs the pack, product and pallet labels that carry the passport identifier, with serial numbers managed automatically.
Generates GS1 Digital Link QR and Data Matrix in vector formats ready for prepress.
Generates identifiers directly from your PIM or compliance system.
Captures batch, origin and inspection data in the field — including offline.
DPP-ready
One carrier, mapped to ESPR, PPWR, EUDR and CLP data as each takes effect.
The DPP carrier is on the product as requirements take effect.
The printed code resolves to the passport record your product data maintains.
The carrier is tied to the passport entry the moment it is produced.
Extend to a new product category without changing the print flow.

No, and be wary of anyone claiming otherwise. The ESPR is in force, but no product-specific delegated act has been adopted, so the data model most product groups will have to follow does not yet exist. What you can do now is get the identifier layer right — a unique, resolvable code on every item — because that part is common to every version of the rules.
The battery passport, on 18 February 2027, under the Batteries Regulation (EU) 2023/1542. It is the first legally binding digital product passport in the EU and it arrives via the batteries rules, not via the ESPR.
The PPWR applies from 12 August 2026, but its harmonised labelling requirements apply from 12 August 2028 at the earliest — the date is set at 24 months after the relevant implementing acts, which have not yet been adopted. Treat 2028 as a floor rather than a fixed deadline, and note that the symbol artwork has not been published.
A machine-readable carrier holding a unique identifier that resolves to a live record — typically a GS1 Digital Link in a QR or Data Matrix. Because the code points at a record rather than containing all the data, the information behind it can be updated without reprinting packaging that has already shipped.
