Swiss QR-bill template – print it free online.
Invoices in Switzerland and Liechtenstein carry a QR-bill payment part with receipt. Fill in the V2.3 template and download the bill in SIX's 210 × 105 mm format.
How to print a Swiss QR-bill
-
01
Open the V2.3 template
Only V2.3 of TEC-IT's three templates splits addresses into street, building number, postal code and town, as SIX now requires. Pick DE, FR, IT or EN for the headings; with a message or bill information, only DE and EN print SIX's heading above it.
-
02
Fill in account, amount and payer
Enter your IBAN with your name and address exactly as your bank holds them, then amount, payer and any reference. Leave amount or payer empty only if the payer should write them in.
-
03
Print at actual size
Download the print-ready PDF and print it at 100% on white, perforated paper of 80–100 g/m², with nothing on the back. The bill must measure 210 × 105 mm.
What is a Swiss QR-bill?
A Swiss QR-bill (QR-Rechnung in German) is an invoice with a payment part and a receipt, printed at its foot or enclosed on a separate sheet. SIX, which issues the rules, calls it the standard for written invoicing in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The payment part carries the Swiss QR Code for scanning and the same data in plain text; the receipt sits to its left. On 1 October 2022, the QR-bill replaced the Swiss payment slips (Einzahlungsscheine).
What the receipt and payment part show
The receipt (1) takes the left 62 mm, the payment part (8) the other 148 mm, both 105 mm high. Both show account and creditor (2), a reference if there is one (3), the payer (4), currency (5) and amount (6). The receipt ends with the acceptance point (7).
Only the payment part holds the Swiss QR Code, the additional information (9) and up to two lines for alternative procedures such as eBill (10). TEC-IT's V2.3 template follows SIX's font sizes: bold Arial headings of 6 pt on the receipt and 8 pt on the payment part, values 2 pt larger.
Who issues QR-bills, and what a faulty print costs
SIX addresses its QR-bill factsheets to issuers from SMEs to public administrations. Their customers pay by scanning the code in a banking app, by mailing the payment part with a payment order, or in cash at a post office counter. SIX's FAQ states that paper bills made to its rules work in all these channels.
SIX's style guide warns that bills breaking its rules may not be processed, or only with extra work that can be charged. Payment parts completed by hand may also cost the creditor extra, so print amount and payer whenever you know them.
Printing QR-bills for a whole invoice run
Online, you fill in a bill and download it free, without signing in. Invoice runs need a free sign-in: one bill per row in a data sheet, typed in or loaded from a CSV file, exported as one PDF. Replace combined-address bills handed out in advance, for rents or leasing instalments, with one run from the V2.3 template.
TFORMer Designer lays out forms with TEC-IT's Swiss QR Code, such as an A4 invoice with the payment part at its foot. TFORMer Workstation fills such a layout from Excel or CSV. TFORMer Server takes print requests from SAP or Oracle, and its AutoDoc merges layouts with XML or text data into PDFs, e-mails or printouts.

SIX's layout rules next to TEC-IT's V2.3 template
| Element | SIX rule | TEC-IT's V2.3 template |
|---|---|---|
| Format | Payment part 148 × 105 mm, receipt 62 × 105 mm on its left | 210 × 105 mm, divided at 62 mm |
| Spacing | At least 5 mm unprinted between sections | 5 mm margins and gaps |
| Fonts | Arial, Frutiger, Helvetica or Liberation Sans, black | Arial |
| Font sizes | Receipt 6 pt bold headings, 8 pt values; payment part 6–10 pt, 8/10 pt recommended; titles 11 pt bold | Receipt 6/8 pt, payment part 8/10 pt, titles 11 pt bold |
| Blank fields | Corner marks, 0.75 pt: amount 40 × 15 mm (receipt 30 × 10 mm), payer at least 65 × 25 mm (receipt 52 × 20 mm) | These sizes, printed when amount or payer is empty |
| Separation | Perforation on paper; on PDF bills, lines marked with a scissors symbol or “Separate before paying in” | Lines above and between the parts; scissors symbol on the vertical line only |
V2.3, V2.3 A4 or V2.2: which template to use
Use V2.3 for new bills. It alone writes the structured address (type S), the only one allowed by version 2.3 of SIX's guidelines, valid from 21 November 2025. V2.3 A4, despite its name, and V2.2 write the combined address (type K), which SIX's factsheets tolerate only briefly after 21 November 2025.
Version 2.4 is valid from 14 November 2026; version 2.3 remains valid until November 2027.
Checks before you print or send
- Original size. Print PDFs at 100%, not “fit to page”: SIX asks for the original size, and notes that even its style guide prints slightly reduced.
- Perforation. Mandatory between invoice and payment part, and specified between payment part and receipt.
- PDF bills. Meant for e-banking and mobile banking, not the counter. SIX wants each line around the bill marked with a scissors symbol or “Separate before paying in”; TEC-IT's V2.3 template marks the vertical one only.
- French or Italian headings. TEC-IT's templates head the message Informations additionnelles or Informazioni aggiuntive, where SIX prescribes Informations supplémentaires and Informazioni supplementari. Use German or English for bills with a message or bill information.
Common QR-bill mistakes
- A name unlike the bank's records. SIX requires the creditor details to match the credit account; c/o details belong in the invoice header.
- 0 as the amount. TEC-IT's template then prints DO NOT USE FOR PAYMENT and refuses any other message. Type the amount due, or leave the field empty.
- Payer inputs partly cleared. Any text there, the preset country CH included, makes name, postal code, town and country required. Clear all of them for the handwritten field.
The fields of a Swiss QR-bill
TEC-IT's V2.3 template prints no field numbers: the numbers here run from the receipt to the payment part and match the markers in the picture above. Captions are the English headings it prints by default; Content adds SIX's German heading. The last two rows are inputs that print nothing themselves.
| No. | Field | Caption on the label | Content | Barcode | Max. length |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Receipt | Receipt | German: Empfangsschein. The left 62 mm of the bill: account, reference, payer, currency and amount, never the additional information. | — | — |
| 2 | Account and creditor | Account / Payable to | German: Konto / Zahlbar an. Your IBAN or QR-IBAN in groups of four, then your name and the address from the inputs Street, Building Number, Postal Code and Town. A country other than CH prints before the postal code. | Swiss QR Code | IBAN 21; name 70; street 70; building no. 16; postal code 16; town 35 |
| 3 | Reference | Reference | German: Referenz. Printed only when the bill has one. A QR reference is grouped in fives after the first two digits, as in 00 00082 07791 22585 74212 86694; a Creditor Reference in fours. | Swiss QR Code | 27 (QR reference), 25 (Creditor Reference) |
| 4 | Payer | Payable by | German: Zahlbar durch. Name and address from the Debtor's inputs. With all of them empty, the heading reads Payable by (name/full address), above blank fields: 52 × 20 mm on the receipt, 65 × 25 mm on the payment part. | Swiss QR Code | name 70; street 70; building no. 16; postal code 16; town 35 |
| 5 | Currency | Currency | German: Währung. CHF or EUR, printed to the left of the amount. | Swiss QR Code | 3 |
| 6 | Amount | Amount | German: Betrag. Printed with a space between thousands and two decimals, such as 1 200.24. Left empty, it gives blank fields of 30 × 10 mm on the receipt and 40 × 15 mm on the payment part; 0 turns the bill into a notification. | Swiss QR Code | 12 incl. the point |
| 7 | Acceptance point | Acceptance point | German: Annahmestelle. Right-aligned at the foot of the receipt, in a section SIX says should be at least 2 cm high. No input. | — | — |
| 8 | Payment part | Payment part | German: Zahlteil. The right 148 × 105 mm (A6): the Swiss QR Code with all payment data, and the same data as text. | Swiss QR Code | — |
| 9 | Additional information | Additional information | German: Zusätzliche Informationen. Payment part only: the input Unstructured Message, then Bill Information. With amount 0, the template prints DO NOT USE FOR PAYMENT here, in the bill's language. | Swiss QR Code | 140 for both |
| 10 | Alternative procedures | eBill AV1: | Inputs Alternative Parameters (line 1) and (line 2). Each prints as one 7 pt line at the foot of the payment part, after a bold eBill AV1 or eBill AV2 label, whatever procedure it holds. | Swiss QR Code | 100 per line |
| — | Reference type | Reference Type | QRR, SCOR or NON. Prints nothing itself but sets how the reference is grouped; the template refuses QRR with a normal IBAN and a QR-IBAN without QRR. | Swiss QR Code | 4 |
| — | Language | Language | DE, EN, IT or FR for every heading on the bill; EN is preset. | — | 2 |
