How to create a Facebook QR code

Copy the Page ID

Switch into your Page, click its name below the cover photo, then Transparency and privacy policy, and copy the Page ID.

Keep QR Code, set the size

iPhone and Pixel cameras read QR Code. Under Settings, set 300 dpi and a 6 Pixel module width (0.508 mm).

Leave the margin, test a proof

The download has no margin: place the PNG unscaled with 4 modules (2.03 mm) clear on every side. Scan a printout with an iPhone and an Android phone.

What a Facebook QR code contains

A Facebook QR code stores a web link to a profile or Page: https://fb.com/profile.php?id= plus its numeric ID. The generator adds the link to your digits, so the code needs no username, which a new Page may not have yet.

Where customers scan a Facebook QR code

Print it where customers hold your product or stand at your brand: packaging inserts, counter displays, shop windows, trade-fair walls and sales staff's business cards. A scan replaces searching Facebook for your company name.

On an iPhone or a Pixel, the camera shows the link and a tap opens it. Meta's Help Centre describes QR codes for groups and Messenger chats; for a company Page, make the code here, sized for print.

A link without the username, at a known size

Meta ties the web address of a profile or Page to its username: a new username changes the address, and a Page can lose its username through inactivity. The ID link holds no username, so neither change alters your printed code.

A 12- or 15-digit ID link fits QR Code version 3: 29 × 29 modules at error correction level L. At 0.508 mm per module, that is 14.73 mm, or 18.80 mm with the 4-module margin. DENSO WAVE, QR Code's developer, advises printing as large as space allows.

Mistakes with the ID

A username or link instead of the ID. The link ends on Facebook's front page; enter digits only.
An ID from Apps and websites. Facebook lists one user ID per app there, and Meta's developer documentation calls the ID an app receives unique to that app. Enter the Page ID.

How do I make a QR code for my Facebook page?

Copy the Page ID from your Page's transparency section, enter the digits and download the QR Code as PNG; the generator adds the fb.com link. Leave 4 clear modules around it, and scan a printed proof before the print run.

Do Facebook Like QR codes still work?

No. Meta discontinued its Like button for external websites on 10 February 2026, announcing it would render as an invisible element. A Like code opened an empty page in our October 2026 test, so print a Profile code with your Page ID.

Does Facebook have its own QR codes?

For groups and Messenger. Meta's Help Centre describes group QR codes that admins download, which show the group's About page, and Messenger codes that start a chat. For a company Page, or for Data Matrix and Aztec, use this generator.

Is the Facebook QR code generator free, and does the code expire?

Yes: one code at a time in the browser, without installation or sign-up. The code holds the fb.com link itself, not a TEC-IT redirect, so nothing expires on our side; it works while the Page exists and Facebook answers profile.php links.
