How can I generate a new PrintList file ("Playlist")?
How can I generate a new PrintList file ("Playlist")?
If the PrintList.PL file becomes corrupted after a system crash, you can use the following procedure to have a new PrintList file created when TFORMer Server starts up.
- Note which printers are currently active, redirected, paused, or inactive
- Stop the TECLauncher service
- Wait until Printserver.exe has ended. If this takes too long, make sure nothing is currently printing and end "Printserver.exe" in Task Manager.
- In the spool directory, rename the file PSPrintList.PL to PSPrintList.PL_backup
- In the spool directory, rename the file PSPrintList.PLO to PSPrintList.PLO_backup
- Restart the TECLauncher service
- All TSF files in the spool directory are now read in again. This may take some time. The server will be unavailable in the Monitor for a while.
- Once finished (the server is reachable again in the Monitor / F5 refresh): All spools/printers will appear disabled in the Monitor.
- Activate: Manually resume every spool/printer that was originally active (see the list you noted above). Also reconfigure any redirections.
After this, the playlist file should be 100% up to date again.
